Pups can join in as soon as they have had their vaccinations. It's a great activity for bonding and for tiring them mentally whilst their bones and joints are still growing.
Yes! Every dog has the ability to Mantrail as we are just harnessing their amazing sense of smell and channelling it into a fun game.
Introductions are usually held Conishead Priory, Ulverston. Our follow on training sessions take place in various public locations.
Introduction courses are £85 where you will be sent a theory videos and introduced to the “game” over 2 practical sessions. On completion you receive a certificate, rosette and your 1st patch badge as well as some other goodies.
You will need a harness to Mantrail in. But don’t invest in lots of kit until you know the sport is for you. I have kit bags available to purchase with everything you need to start out once you decide you want to take up the sport (these are £95 including a long-line).
Regular progression sessions are £20.
Look at our schedule on BookWhen and book an introduction package.
If you have done your intro with another instructor already then book a standard mantrailing session.

Yes. Our classes are run in small groups of 5 dog and owners teams maximum with the opportunity to adapt sessions to an individual’s dog’s needs.
Mantrailing can be a great way to help build positive associations with people due to the methods we use and dogs are worked one at a time and kept on a longline at all times.
Please contact us before booking a class if your dog has any behaviour issues so we can ensure we can accommodate your dog’s needs.
ABSOLUTELY NOT! We train dogs to find people by their specific scent purely for fun. There are operational teams out there but Pet Star Academy is not one of them. We do this with pet dogs only for the shear thrill of how amazing the dog’s nose is.
