These awards are less prescriptive than the titles and mean that you can play to your dog’s strengths if your dog loves heelwork to music put in the tricks you have form that, if they like parkour there are plenty of behaviours to be gained, if they are a sports dog of any kind submit what you have learnt from that. You can use any trick you wish, the more difficult the trick the more points you get. Novice tricks are worth 1 point, intermediate 2 points, advanced 3 points and expert tricks 4 points. There are lists in the file section to get you started but if you have taught a trick not on the list include it in yoursubmission I will evaluate its level and award points accordingly and add to the list. You can do variations of tricks for example spin left and spin right are 2 separate tricks. Equally if you can perform a trick with distance or distractions then you will gain extra points. So a trick off the novice list performed with either distance or distraction will gain intermediate 2 points, likewise intermediate tricks performed with distance or distractions will gain advanced 3 points and so on. Please only choose tricks that are appropriate for your pet’s age and physical capability. No tasks are allowed to be lured in these awards. Treats or toys as rewards should be in either the handler’s pocket, a closed treat pouch, or on a table close by. These are progressive awards so you start at Rookie and keep accumulating points for each trick you submit. Ie. You submit tricks totalling 15 points to get Rookie status then a further 15 points worth of tricks to get Beginner status. Submit your entries by video submission only. You are not being judged on your videoing or film making skills but each clip should clearly show the pet fully in the frame and the environment it is performing in. If doing silent cues / hand signals the handler needs to be fully in the frame also. Successful completion of each award will earn you a printed certificate and rosette to commemorate your achievements. Each level costs £16 to assess, title certificate and commemorative rosette.
